Big Earth Data has become essential for advancing the goals of sustainability, resilience, and inclusive growth. This session will explore cutting-edge techniques and integrated platforms that harness the power of Big Earth Data to support sustainable development, particularly in the context of the Belt and Road regions. The session will bring together experts and practitioners to share advances in remote sensing, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and geospatial analytics that enable high-resolution monitoring and modeling of Earth systems. Emphasis will be placed on cross-disciplinary methods that facilitate the transformation of massive, diverse datasets into actionable knowledge for climate adaptation, ecosystem protection, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable resource management. Additionally, the session will highlight progress in the development of open, interoperable platforms that promote data accessibility and international cooperation. Case studies will demonstrate how Big Earth Data is driving evidence-based decision-making to address pressing challenges such as desertification, water scarcity, urban expansion, and food security.
