It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the 9th Digital Belt and Road Conference (DBAR 2025).  We are proud of our legacy to attract talented and diverse group of dedicated experts, innovators, and leaders committed to advancing sustainable development through digital science and technology.

Celebrating the 10 years of the Digital Belt and Road Science Program, this conference is a timely opportunity to celebrate our achievements and set new ambitions for the post-2030 era as we approach the deadline for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is essential to explore ways to sustain our progress and establish frameworks that drive our mission to build a more sustainable, equitable world. This event serves as a platform to inspire actions that not only maintain our current momentum but also expand the reach and impact of our efforts well into the future. Therefore, there is a need to examine the rapidly evolving digital landscape and how it reshapes our approaches to data and decision-making. By staying adaptable and forward-thinking, we can ensure that digital science bridges knowledge gaps, supports effective monitoring, and accelerates sustainable development.

The DBAR 2025 program will facilitate rich exchanges focused on addressing research, capacity, and infrastructure challenges, particularly those faced by the developing world. It will also explore practical solutions to promote global collaboration, strengthen partnerships with host countries, and enhance resources for sustainable development. Through these discussions, DBAR 2025 will reinforce our shared commitment to fostering knowledge exchange, advancing regional prosperity, and ensuring that the benefits of our efforts extend globally.
